22 years ago the G.O.A.T., Michael Jordan, faxed the press release read 'round the world stating two simple words: "I'M BACK."

Well, I'm back like Jordan wearing the 4-5 as Jay-Z would say (I'm sorry, YouTube doesn't have the original Encore anywhere...). As I mentioned in my email to subscribers, I've had a lot of life changes since the last time I was actively posting picks and writing articles in September. You may know I'm from Chicago and a diehard Cubs fan, so October was kind of a crazy month to say the least...

And since then, a lot more life changes have been happening! To keep things short, here's a quick timeline of my past 6 months:

• October: Cubs have incredible playoff run, including winning the pennant on my birthday!
• November: Cubs win World Series, I interview and accept new job in Steamboat Springs
• December: Load up my car and move to Colorado, start new job in Ski Town U.S.A.
• December-January: Work is absolutely crazy during peak ski season, plenty of powder days though!
• February: Shit starts to hit the fan, my new organization begins to unravel, the changes my supervisor and I were brought in to make are fought more and more, decisions are made that we can not ethically support. We inform the board, but no action is taken.
• End of February: Resign from job (along with 5 of the 7 full-time staff there-CRAZY!).
• March: Ponder what to do next, decide to do sports betting (and other side projects, like this website!) full-time while I can afford not having a "real job".

So here we are! I've never had enough time to keep up with the blog, research and post picks, or simply watch enough basketball/baseball/football. This is what I am most passionate about, so I'm pumped to be able to do this full-time. Luckily I saved quite a bit when I was working, so I should have quite a bit of runway to see where this goes.

Unfortunately, I don't think this passionate message will make it to the Players' Tribune. With that said, please spread the word of Fast Break Bets if you feel it's the quality site I want it to be. I've shied away from emailing my daily betting picks for the time being, but I'll definitely send out email updates with new additions to the blog.
